Vikrant Salar
Engineer · Inventor · Author · Founder & Principal, SALAR Technologies LLC
Vikrant Salar is an electronics and systems engineer with more than two decades of experience across semiconductor platforms, networking, board-level hardware, manufacturing, reliability, technical program leadership and AI infrastructure. He founded SALAR Technologies LLC in Wilsonville, Oregon to apply that engineering experience to resilient electronics, semiconductor supply-chain intelligence and evidence-driven technical decision support.
Education
B.Tech. (Hons.), Electronics & Communication Engineering, 2006. Current professional records identify Graphic Era Institute of Technology, then affiliated with HNB Garhwal University, as the degree institution pathway.
Professional engineering background
Semiconductors & systems
Experience includes SoC/ASIC programs, Ethernet and networking platforms, board architecture, high-speed interfaces, power and thermal integration, validation and system bring-up.
Reliability & manufacturing
Work spans component engineering, qualification, root-cause analysis, NPI, manufacturing readiness, sustaining engineering and supplier-risk closure.
Technical leadership
Career experience includes Intel, Citrix, Cisco, NetApp and Nokia/Nokia Siemens Networks, with responsibility across global engineering teams and complex hardware programs.
Research & invention
At SALAR Technologies, Vikrant leads work in board reliability, semiconductor supply-chain resilience, provenance, AI infrastructure assurance, high-speed validation and advanced computing.
Books, patents and public technical work
He is the author of The American Arsenal: Defense Electronics Supply-Chain Sovereignty and Quantum Computing in the Age of Artificial Intelligence, and is named across ten patent filings covering electronics reliability, connectivity, semiconductor supply-chain intelligence, manufacturing stability, AI infrastructure, provenance, governed agent actions, high-speed validation and quantum hardware assurance.
Contribution to U.S. technology resilience
SALAR's public research agenda is aimed at strengthening U.S. capability in trustworthy electronics, semiconductor resilience, domestic engineering depth, mission-critical reliability and next-generation AI/HPC infrastructure. The work focuses on practical engineering evidence—how components fail, how lower-tier supplier dependencies propagate, how provenance can be verified, and how complex infrastructure can be validated before risk becomes operational failure.
National-laboratory computing work
SALAR's salargraph project received an Argonne Leadership Computing Facility Director's Discretionary allocation for Polaris compute and Eagle storage. SALAR has used that environment for public-safe research and validation workflows. The allocation is research-computing access, not an Argonne/DOE endorsement, grant or procurement award.
